Shot taken yesterday in 34deg heat with a strong wind blowing. So strong that at the Art & Craft fair in front of the Telethon Auction two tents blew over & they had to pack up. The Telethon House sold for $560,000 & a record total of $13,473,159 was raised overall for Telethon.
There was also a large fire at Gingin.
There will be a bit of a buzz around Yanchep on Sunday October 16th. Coinciding with the auction of the Telethon Home in Hopbush Lane is an Art & Craft Fair at Zamia Park. Across the road at Capricorn House there is a selection of art by Glen Hughes & Angie Beck. From 10am until 4.30pm you are invited to drop in & have a look, meet with Angie & pick up a free postcard of Yanchep Lagoon. Barbara Yates Rothwell will also be there signing her books from 10 until midday.
Police are calling for witnesses to a crash between two trail bikes that killed two young men on Sunday night. Up to ten friends had been riding their bikes off-road from Two Rocks to the Yanchep Pine Forrest. Some of them then decided to continue riding after dark, the 18 and 20 year old men were riding on Old Yanchep Road when they were killed. They were riding unlicensed bikes without headlights on a single carriageway road when they collided head-on.
When will they ever learn - so dreadful for their families.
I seem to be on a historic reading trip, having enjoyed Phillipa Gregorys 'Red Queen' & 'White Queen' I am now looking forward to reading her 'A Respectable Trade'. My G,G, Grandfather was a Master Mariner in Bristol. Also from the library I picked up the new 'Playaway - all in one audiobook. Right now I am half way through reading 'The Reef' by Di Morrissey.
