HI Angie. Have to lvoe the kookaburras. had a few goign off here last night. I used to work in yanchep up until 3 years ago. Small world. Ok Molasses. Get a watering can. Cover the bottom of it with molasses and up by 1-2 cms. add water. It will froth lots. Pour it on your gardens and lawn. Refill the watering can until its gone. And repeat. It actually encourages the good microbes in the soil. So makes the soil more healthy. Don't pre- mix any you won't use straight away though as it will ferment and be aware it will stain light paving. If you want to know more I suggest you check out the gardening threads at homeone.com.au Here's a link to a thread about molasses written by a Perth gardening bloke who is absolutely brilliant. It has piccies as well http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=15058
Oh it seems you can get large sealed buckets of molasses at the mirco bros. I'm intending to get a bucket when I head to Perth next time.

This was in response to a question about using molasses as a kind of fertiliser.
