Talking 'bout Books & stuff

BOOKS - A little light reading - needed after 'The Slap'!

STUFF - Decided to join in A Million Little Pictures
and receive a disposable camera from Art House, choose a theme that inspires me and share my interpretation with the world. Use one of their cameras to capture 27 frames on a single theme and then send them the results. They will collect the contributions into a traveling exhibition and send them on a journey from coast to coast. Last day to join!!!

and this year same time, no people. Very little left to swim in let alone exploring rock pools.

Happy Birthdays & RIP, Liz

Happy Birthday
Donna F. and Harry Houdini (see Google)
Yeterdays mail included a jigsaw puzzle (pic later) from the 'Farmies' and a card from Beanie Mouse.

Thanks, guys! I love it when birthdays spread out over days.
RIP Liz - I've been looking for a photo I took years ago but can't find it!!! Need to have an end of summer clear out, except this summer doesn't want to end.

The Wednesday Wotsit - Caution, unsavory text from 1840

While searching the National Library web site I found this (The last sentence amused me, there was no picture!)
December 14th 1840 BURY & NORWICH POST
(advert for R.H.Lamb Medical Practitioner from Manchester and Liverpool)
Son age 12 of Mr Robert Farman, Builder of St. Helens Street, Ipswich, while taking a course of Mr. Lambs Medicine, passed a Tape Worm upwards of 21 feet long, with several hundred joints. The principal symptoms that affected the boy for a considerable time, were violent pains in the head, dimness of sight nearly to blindness, at time giddiness, violent pains in the side striking across the bowels, gnawing pains in the stomach, pain in the back, extreme fullness after eating, moaning and starting during sleep, numbness of the limbs etc etc. Further particulars may be known by applying to Mr. Farman or of Mr Lamb, where the worm may be seen.

Shadow Shot Sunday #147

This wild Rose Geranium doesn't need any rain, seems to be growing in a crack in brick paving!

Yesterdays Capricorn Festival went well in spite of the strong wind. The tent next to ours blew right over - no one was hurt but there were breakages including the tent. I sold some art & a few postcards. Wish I had had a camera - feel naked without one!!

Capricorn Festival

Capricorn Festival is back better than ever for 2011. The popular annual festival will extend into the evening with the Doo Daddies on stage rocking the best of Chicago blues. The festival includes community and market stalls providing a range of gifts, fresh food, local arts and crafts and produce. There will be roving entertainment, activities for youth and children, reptile display, kite display, pony rides, bouncy castle, face painters and much more.
I will be there with Yanchep Lagoon Postcards including this new one of our local Pelican.

This is on loan from another library so I've had to drop the Gabaldon for now & get on with 'Wild Mary'.

The Wednesday Wotsit - wind burn!

Sat outside at the Weekend - in the shade - with what I thought was a cool breeze, only to wake up Monday morning with wind burn on my chest. Looks like it may blister!!! Aloe Vera spray to the rescue (someone said a cut tomato could work!). I've had enough of this heat.
