Love the cover (large ornament by Lalique) still not sure if I love the book. The cast of characters takes some coming to grips with. Only half way through on page 316.

What a beautiful cover! I like Byatt but I wouldn't exactly use the word 'enjoy' to describe the experience. This book was a challenge but worthwhile.
