Yanchep Beach has been closed following shark sightings after a whale carcass washed up on the beach near the Yanchep Lagoon. It was believed to have been sighted right near the shore earlier today. Department of Fisheries regional manager Tony Cappelluti said currently the sharks had access to the carcass, but that may change as the tide was changing.
"We don't know if the sharks have fed on the carcass," he said. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew has sighted four tiger sharks near the lagoon.
Thanks for letting me know, Bill.

Yikes! While in Boston this past week went to the aquarium and saw several Australian sea creatures. Your country has sooooo many amazing, interesting (& poisonous) fish!
Scary stuff Angie, that's why my policy is stay OUT of the water!!
