For a while now I have wanted to get seeds of amaranth & couldn't find any. How thrilled I was to be given a LARGE bunch of Vlita & found out it belongs to the amaranth family & is known as palmer amarynth.

Boiled or steamed, strained & mixed with olive oil, vinegar or lemon. I ate some with hummus I had made. Delicious!

Seeded my 2nd magic square with green stuff, 3 weeks earlier than last year. So no pic of bare earth. I wonder why I bother when I have friends whose vegie garden looks like this!!!
Rows of cabbage, broccoli, beetroot, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce etc. (Not sure why the mauve tint in the pic.)
