With 3 Kate Grenville books waiting. 'The Secret River' is our book club choice this month. I have read it before - have my own copy - and loved it so I decided to get 'Searching for The Secret River' which tells the story of how Grenville came to write it. As it is family research I am sure I will enjoy it! The last few weeks has seen me delve into more of my own family as well as others.
At the moment I am enjoying 'The Persimmon Tree' by Bryce Courtenay.

Saturday Photo Hunt this week is 'Memorial'.

A memorial is an object which serves as a focus for memory of something. Popular forms of memorials include landmark objects or art objects. The shop bought Rocket will be just a memory when it hits the compost bin.

Before putting the Rocket into the compost bin I thought I would show the curly twisted roots of shop bought plants as against the straight root from my own seed.

Back yard, threw a few bird seeds around, pink & grey galahs scratched around.

Front so called lawn - I'm going to make it a meadow!
Dug up some onion grass, scratched around like an old chook,
then threw a few mixed flower seeds around.
Could get some rain later!

Running late today. Planted out gift seedings, made bread in my newish breadmaker ($39 from Cash Converters) & made two faux artistamps for a mail art project called 'Friends & Faux'.

I was into training last week.

With the price of cigarettes going sky high one hopes that this young man will STOP smoking and maybe learn to read! Talking about reading, I have just started 'The Lost Quilter' by Jennifer Chiaverini. 'Vanishing Acts' by Jodi Picoult was very intense but a good read.
