SkyWatch Friday Season 4 Episode 11

Fluffy clouds but no rain - if Perth doesn't register any rain by the end of the month then it will be the longest September dry spell in 130 years of records.
Who said there is no such thing as climate change?

The Wednesday Wotsit

Extract of Will penned by Abraham BECK in March 1827. " .... to my dear wife Ann Beck .......... last line on this page ... my property the Gop?????????? in Union Court, Old Brentford".
Have found Ann owned at least 10 properties including number 56 High St Old Brentford. Mrs Anne Beck owned this ‘house and yard’ at the time of the tithe apportionment in 1839 and the occupier was Richard Brown. Can anyone help with the name of the property beginning 'Gop'

Talking 'bout Books & Shadow Shot Sunday #122

If you look very closely you can just see a Blue Tongue Lizard or Bobtail Goanna Tiliqua rugosa hiding in the shadows of the grass. Hope it finds lots of snails!
There are some wonderful shadows over at Hey Harriet.

The book of the moment is 'The Time Traveler's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger. As it's a Book Club book it's my second time of reading & I watched the DVD a couple of months ago. I like the book better than the movie.

Plotting for a Food Garden week 50

Not much gardening for me as I can hardly walk - problems with hip. No rain in sight this coming week so I'm having to hand water the seeds I put in a few weeks ago. Potatoes, spinach, tomatoes & parsley doing well. Rocket of course is everywhere!

Talking 'bout Books & Shadow Shot Sunday #121

Surprise! A lavender & an orange gazania have decided to grow in a crack in the paving & makes for a good shadow.

I found 'The Bone Garden' a gruesome but interesting read. Then it was 'A Family Affair' by Caro Peacock - a novel about a Victorian lady detective, set in London & Buckinghamshire. 17 pages to go, very light reading, just what I need at the moment. Might even see if I can get other books written by her.

Plotting for a Food Garden week 49

Seeded my 2nd magic square with green stuff, 3 weeks earlier than last year. So no pic of bare earth. I wonder why I bother when I have friends whose vegie garden looks like this!!!
Rows of cabbage, broccoli, beetroot, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce etc. (Not sure why the mauve tint in the pic.)

A spring bouquet for a special occasion.
The decision by the two independent MPs gives Labor a parliamentary majority of 76 seats to the Coalition's 74, continuing Julia Gillard's prime ministership. An early birthday present for JG (29th September 1961)
Now just get on with making Australia a better place for all.

The Wednesday Wotsit

Just some of the 'stuff' I could use when playing about with scissor, glue, paint etc.
Getting inspired by such people as Seth Apter of 'The Altered Page' and a whole gallery of Mixed Media Artists. Now all I need to do is get off the computer and get on with playing!
