No servants in this family. My grandmother was just a little woman but had 9 children (3 died) & John Edwin died 2 years later in 1913.
Here she is in about 1936.

She was a tiny lady Angie, I can't even begin to imagine what it would have been like to have nine children. I think women were a lot tougher in those days, they just got on with things.
Lovely old photo. She looks as though she is about to get up and speak to us.
