Now reading the Mark Mason book - interesting & funny. When I've finished that it's onto Diana Gabaldon - this is almost as big as the one I just finished (819 pages)! The Howard Jacobson one will have to wait - on loan from a book club friend.
Nasturtiums taking over. Just a couple of flowers to pop in the salad. Slept late this morning, no leaping out of bed to look after my friends dog (she is recovering from a gall-bladder op as well as now being treated for a duodenal ulcer but is back home). No picking veg (did that yesterday). No shopping to get (have enough to keep going for a week). Will probably try & finish 'A Breath of Snow & Ashes' (only another 84 pages). See you all tomorrow - have a good W/E.
Surprise post came yesterday from someone in Canada! No indication who sent it (I seem to recognise the writing) so whoever you are thank you very much. Maybe someone on Post Crossing as there are stamps cut from postcards from all over the world.
Spent most of the day making cream of broccoli soup, pumpkin soup & vegetable stock, now hope to have the enegy to make spinach, beet leaves, pumpkin & fetta filo pie. (only had to buy the pumpkin, the rest of the veg came out of the garden above - not mine!). Cup of tea time.
They better not be getting rid of these wonderfull trees just to put a road in for a shopping centre. Fingers crossed that the trees are just being 'trimmed'.
