‘The Amateur Marriage’ by Anne Tyler was a slow walk in the park compared to ‘A Piece of Cake’ by Cupcake Brown. Reading this is like racing alongside an express train, I get breathless just reading a few pages (292 out of 470).
Just must mention that I watched ‘Nottinghill’ (again!) and noticed (for the first time) that, at the very end of the movie when the camera pans in to the seat in the park, Hugh Grant is reading ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’.
On another note here is a page
from the
'SIXTIES source book'.
I haven't read any of these books. I wish I had been a few years younger in the sixties I'm sure I would have enjoyed it!
