Talking 'bout Books

This week I just happened to drift into a 2nd hand book shop (last week I picked up ‘A Breath of Snow and Ashes’ by Diana Gabaldon for $5 - #6 to add to my other 5) & found a parcel of 3 books, original price $36, ‘September’ by Rosamunde Pilcher, ‘The Hope’ by Herman Wouk & ‘Appassionata’ By Jilly Cooper, all large hard cover, done up in blue ribbon for $2 – yes that is two dollars!! Then on Friday when I went to Yanchep Library to return ‘The Family Tree’ by Barbara Delinsky. I looked in their recycle box to find ‘Oscar and Lucinda’ by Peter Carey. This is the next book club choice & I ordered a copy as they didn’t have enough to go around. And there it was…… asking price 20cents!!! I couldn’t believe it.
I have just finished reading The Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club by Gil McNeil. Large print so I was able to get through it fairly quickly, a feel good kind of story. Humorous, light and very enjoyable – peppered with the word F**k.
Just started on ‘Dream of Margaret River' by Penelope Ransby – a story of love & loss from the Great War, also some history of the area in the South West of Western Australia – very small print so I’m squinting a bit.

That's a stroke of luck. Isn't it weird when the universe conspires with you? Enjoy all that reading. I have to find that knitting society book. Sounds good...I just ignore any words I don't like. They don't really add to the meaning.
