A different kind of time/thyme share. Months ago a friend split a punnet of thyme with me. Mine grew, hers didn't so she has asked me to give her some back! Mine is growing so well I was able to pot up 3 in little yellow punnets & still have masses left.

Talking 'bout Books & Shadow Shot Sunday

A slight breeze was wafting over this shadow of seeding Garlic Chives. I have now cut all the heads off & put them in a paper bag to dry off. There are some wonderful shots of shadows here. Thanks Harriet.


Still reading 'Morgans Run' & what an engrossing novel it is. Highly recommended for depicting 'The First Fleet - the criminal, the unloved & the unwanted of English Society'.

Such a glorious day that I am debating whether to go for a swim or not. 29deg, blue skies & last day of the school holidays so it could be crowded.

3pm - 32 deg - come on in, the water is like Champagne.

My Egg Plant is flowering! I have been told to 'pinch back new blossoms about three weeks before the first expected frost'. No way will I do this, I want to see what happens - anyway we don't get frost here (says she crossing fingers).

Bright YELLOW lockers at the rail station.

The dry has broken, a little bit of rain, just enough to dampen the seeds of Chinese Broccoli thrown in the plot this morning.

Yesterday was warm, last swim at 2pm, washing all dry, back for a cuppa & a read - nice.

Talking 'bout Books & Shadow Shot Sunday

Having finished (and surprisingly enjoyed) 'Adam and Eve and Pinch Me' by Ruth Rendell, I have immersed myself in 'Morgan's Run' by Colleen McCullough. Reading about Bristol, England in the late 1700s where one of my ancestors was born, the same streets, occupations and everyday living - most interesting. Big, thick book of 600 pages to enjoy sitting in the shadows of the sheoak (casuarina).

Wonderful news arrived in my email, from the Secretary Residents Association

"Hi All,

At last night's Council meeting, our Councillor, Laura Gray put forward a motion, seconded by our other Councillor, Norm Hewer, to have the whole of the aluminium structure of the Yanchep boardwalk removed completely.

I am very pleased to announce that this motion was carried unanimously, and we can now look forward to our pristine dunes at Yanchep being returned to their former glory.

I just wanted to add that I would like to thank all the Yanchep Residents for selecting option 2 and commenting on the aluminium, in the recent questionnaire. It was undoubtedly that result that lead the Council to make their tremendous decision to have the whole aluminium structure removed.

Although John Quigley's contribution cannot be overstated in getting this result, we should also give thanks to Emma Brennan of the North Coast Times / Weekender for all her support during this campaign.

When the Residents Association started it's campaign to have the Skybridge removed, many thought we were wasting our time, but this result is a clear indication that when we all pull together we can make a difference. Regards"

Talking 'bout Books & Shadow Shot Sunday

Woken up tired & full of hay fever. Camera battery went dead yesterday so don't have many photos of the Zoo. The phone battery is also dead, the bread machine won't work as the washer has split so I think I'll just lay around and read, even though I can't see very well due to the hay fever.

I have never read a Ruth Rendell book, picked this one up at the Op shop (the day before I kept repeating the phrase/joke about Adam & Eve - Adam & Eve & Pinch me went down the river to bathe, Adam & Eve were drowned, who was saved? I remember falling for this a few times when I was a kid.) When I saw the book on the shelf the next day I just had to get it.
